Merlion City

May 24th, 2008 by jasonandalpha

It’s final. After a year back in Manila, I’m scheduled to move to Singapore by July. It is going to be my first move out of the country for employment reasons, and is going to be Alpha’s second.

I’ve been to Singapore thrice before and found it to be a comfortable city to be in. The mass transport is efficient, the price of food comparable to the Philippines, and it is just a mere 4 hour flight away from home.

It is going to be another year of adjustment and discovery, and I’m sure it is going to be interesting. All this in preparation for the long-term move we have been planning for (and will reveal in almost a year’s time.)

For now, it is time to pack-up my stuff and ship them to Davao, and focus on wrapping up and transitioning my duties at work.

See ya, lah!

Frank Gehry Fold Ring by Tiffany

August 25th, 2007 by jasonandalpha

We have been searching for a unique, modern design for our wedding ring, and Alpha pointed out this beauty as a suggestion.

It’s a Frank Gehry Fold Ring, commissioned by Frank Gehry, the postmodern architect behind the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA, for Tiffany. Check out the video Tiffany made on him.

I fell in love with the idea of having an architectural genius and artist design a piece of jewelry. It’s just unfortunate that Tiffany no longer sells them.

It’s going to be a challenge to find a jeweller who will be able to take this design and craft his own for us.
